Basic Budget is designed to be completely private. It does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
Nothing. Basic Budget has no account, no login, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs. The app does not send your data to us or to any third party.
Everything you enter — expenses, budgets, categories, subcategories and notes — is stored only in a local database on your device. It is never uploaded to us or any server. Your data leaves your device only if you explicitly export a CSV file and choose where to share it. Importing reads only the file you pick.
The optional one-time in-app purchase (the lifetime unlock) is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Completing that purchase involves Apple's own StoreKit transaction service — that is the only network activity the app relies on, and even then it transmits none of your budget data. We never see or store your payment details. Apple's handling of the transaction is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Basic Budget does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
